Registering for a NISM examination is a straightforward, completely paperless online process. It is divided into two distinct parts: creating and activating your NISM profile (a one-time process), followed by enrolling and paying for your specific exam.
Before You Begin: Document Checklist
Before visiting the portal, make sure you have the following digital copies ready (in JPEG/JPG format, with a file size under 1 MB):

PAN Card (Name on your registration must match your PAN card exactly).

Aadhaar Card or other government address proof.

Recent passport-size photograph with a clear, light-colored background.

Part 1: One-Time Profile Registration & Approval
2.Fill in Details & Upload Documents:
Fill in your personal information, address, and educational details. Upload your scanned PAN Card, Address Proof, and Photograph.
3.Activate Your Account:
Submit the form. You will receive an activation link and an OTP in your registered email inbox. Click the link and enter the OTP to verify your identity.
4.Wait for Profile Approval:
NISM manually verifies your details (especially ensuring your name matches your PAN card). This profile approval generally takes 1 to 3 business days. You will receive a confirmation email once your profile is approved.
Part 2: Enrolling and Scheduling Your Exam
Once you receive your “Profile Approved” email, you can log in and book your test slot.
1.Log In:
Log into the portal using your registered email ID and the password you set during registration.
2.Select Certification:
From your dashboard, click “Enrolment for Certification”. Choose your desired exam module (e.g., Series V-A: Mutual Fund Distributors or Series VIII: Equity Derivatives).
3.Select Center, Date, and Time Slot:
Select your State, City, and preferred Test Center. A dynamic calendar will show you available dates and time slots. Choose the slot that works best for you.
4.Complete Online Payment:
Pay the exam fee online via Net Banking, Credit/Debit card, or UPI. Fees typically range between ₹1,200 to ₹3,000 depending on the complexity of the module.
5.Download Admit Card & Study Material:
Upon successful payment, you will receive an email confirmation. You can instantly download your Admit Card and your free soft-copy Study Material (PDF) directly from your candidate dashboard.
Exam Day Rule: Remember to carry a printed copy of your Admit Card along with the original photo ID (like your physical PAN card or Aadhaar card) that you used during registration. Soft copies on mobile phones are strictly not permitted inside the examination hall.
