RBI Grade B Phase 1 Mock Test 2026

RBI Grade B is widely regarded as the most prestigious recruitment in Indian banking, and Phase 1 is the screening stage that decides who gets to attempt the papers that actually count. Like other prelims it is qualifying in nature, so the score opens the door to Phase 2 and then plays no part in the final merit.

The paper carries 200 questions for 200 marks in 120 minutes. The split is General Awareness 80 questions for 80 marks, Reasoning Ability 60 questions for 60 marks, English Language 30 questions for 30 marks and Quantitative Aptitude 30 questions for 30 marks. Negative marking is 0.25 per wrong answer. The paper is bilingual in Hindi and English except for the English Language section, which can only be attempted in English.

The structure is what makes this exam different from every other banking prelims. General Awareness alone carries 80 marks, forty percent of the paper, against 30 each for English and Quantitative Aptitude. That single fact should reshape your entire preparation. A candidate who is excellent at quantitative aptitude and weak on current affairs will not clear this paper, while the reverse combination frequently does.

The General Awareness section is also not general in the everyday sense. It is dominated by banking and financial awareness, current affairs from roughly the previous six months, government schemes, the economy and international affairs. Static general knowledge plays a much smaller role than candidates expect.
